First off, I want to apologize for the delay in getting out the last blog post, “Heart Thing”. I was dealing with some spiritual warfare. For some reason, I couldn’t get the last blog page to post. Satan did not want that blog to post. I haven’t figured out just what he was objecting to, but he really did not want it posted. I expected that there would be a few fights over what was being written, but the battle was way different that I expected. I figured it would be writer’s block or computer problems, but he played the program glitch card.
I worked on posting “Heart Thing” beginning on February 26. The previous two blogs posted immediately when I hit publish. But “Hope” was not going to post. I worked on it almost every night, sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes I was just too frustrated to work on it much. Nothing I tried worked. I deleted and reposted and cleared caches and all sorts of things that had been suggested. I even deleted that page that wouldn’t go away and reposted it, but even that didn’t work. I researched why the blog might not post and found a dozen different reasons. Some made sense and others I had no idea what they were talking about.
Then, this evening (Friday, 3/3/23), my friend, Kelly, texted and asked if I had anything she could pray about. I told her about the problems I was having with the blog. She said she pray with me about it. As I set to work again that night, I kept trying to get the blog to post, still nothing worked. I worked for hours, attempting to post, deleting and rewriting. Then, suddenly, something caught my eye. One tiny word. I had looked at that word on every post I had done for days before this, but never saw it as a problem. The word ‘blog” was in the URL of the blog page that wouldn’t go away. I have no idea why I didn’t think it might be the problem. But I figured that if it caught my eye, there was a reason.
So, I deleted that little word and the latest page, “Heart Thing,” posted, FINALLY! I don’t know why I had never noticed it until just a few minutes ago, 10:45 pm, Friday evening. I believe that Kelly’s prayers, along with others I know are praying for this blog, beat Satan back and helped my unseeing eyes see the little word I needed to see. Satan did not get his way. For over a week I felt like he was fighting me and this blog, tooth and nail. I know that Satan fights the Truth. My grandmother wrote Sunday School lessons and Satan fought her often when the Truth she wanted to teach revealed things he wanted to stay hidden.
As I said before, I expected Satan to try to fight the things that God has set me to say. He doesn’t want Jesus revealed. But I am not going to stop because of a struggle to post, or even a struggle to write. I know why I sit at my computer and type. God wants it and I am going to do my best to share what He has to say. I have to sit down with prayer, pray as I write and pray as I put it up on the website.
I know God answers prayer. I’ve seen and felt Him answer my prayers. Sometimes it is a brief time between petition and answer. But sometimes, there is a battle between Satan and the answer: then, after a battle in heavenly places, the answers finally reach us. And there is always an answer. Sometimes it is “yes”, sometimes it’s “no” and sometimes it is “not now,” but He always answers. We just have to PUSH. Pray Until Something Happens. Thank you, Kelly and everyone else, for your prayers.
